Mari Selvam is currently pursuing Doctorate of Philosophy in Agricultural and Environmental Biotechnology at National Institute of Technology Rourkela. The research focus is on thermochemical conversion of agro-residues for biochar production; characterization and modification of biochar for exploring its potential usage in agricultural, catalytic applications.

A research scholar in NIT Rourkela, having a keen interest in environmental biotechnology. Currently working on environmental sustainability and wastewater treatment, using microalgae and plants cultivated in a hydroponic system.

Completing my post-graduation made me realize I wanted something more than a mere 9-5 job, and the field of academic research particularly caught my attention.
